Weekly Update 4/30/21

Hello Neighbors!


Attached right below is an informative update on the Weekly Water Report, thanks to our excellent Water Committee.


We have other great information to share with you, and remind you of!


1) WEBSITE UPDATE: The website has been updated with additional information and tabs for you to learn more about local issues.  www.SaveChehalemMountain.com.  Here you will also find every past weekly report. Check out our sections on water issues, volunteer opportunities, and more!


2) DONATION UPDATE: We have updated our pay portal.  Now you may donate to our Attorney & Professional fees via the website utilizing PayPal HERE.  Any large donations would be appreciated via check to avoid processing fees.  (Note: all work on the Board of Directors & our Water Committee, Fire Committee is 100% unpaid & volunteer).


3) RE-DRILLED YOUR WELL?   Our Water Attorney would like a list to present to OWRD in our fight.  Email us at:  SaveChehalemMountain@gmail.com.


4) NEED VOLUNTEERS: We need more bodies to help us protect our homes & community from the fire danger & loss of water.  We need volunteers to get the word out and work on existing committees related to fire, water, etc.  For example: right now we are working on getting this area designated “FireWise”.  With last year’s blaze, it is important that we take precautionary measures. Firewise USA® – How to become a Firewise USA® site (nfpa.org).  Stay tuned for more.


5) HOUSE BILL 3239: No flammable chemical cannabis processing in Rural Oregon.  114 of you wrote letters, THANK YOU!  This Bill has been moved to the short session and a work group has been organized to push this effort forward.  The following groups were AGAINST this bill: 1,000 Friends of Oregon, OLCC, Oregon Industrial Hemp Farmers Assoc, Oreon Farm Bureau.


6) YAMHILL COUNTY “MARIJUANA TIME, PLACE & MANNER REGULATIONS”: thank you to the volunteers working with Yamhill County Commissioners/Planners/Attorney to formally adopt safety measures called Marijuana Time, Place & Manner Regulations.  These are sensible guildlines County Commissioners are given the authority to adopt under HB 3400 designed to protect citizens, the environment, quality of life, home values and the lives of First Responders.  Almost every other County in Oregon has adopted these measures.  Example Clackamas County https://www.clackamas.us/planning/marijuana.html
